When I was an advisor, I didn’t have a system or a process for bringing in leads. We tried a lot of things (mostly things that didn’t work) and eventually turned to industry experts who specialize in new business development to help us figure out a strategy that would work for us, and within two years we had a half a dozen new plans and our 401k assets had nearly doubled.
More importantly, we had several strategies that worked, and would continue to work for us to bring in new business so we wouldn’t have to worry about what would happen anymore if we lost another large client.
Knowing what to do is 90% of winning. The last 10% is just execution. I’m glad we found some smart folks who were willing to share what they knew with us or we might have decided to pivot our business to insurance sales ;-).
