ASPPA Benefits Council (ABC) of Western PA Hosts Event for Pension Professionals
Registration is open for the March 26th Meeting Covering the SECURE Act
Pittsburgh, PA: ASPPA Benefits Council (ABC) of Western Pennsylvania announces the first CE session of 2020. Registration is open until March 20th and retirement plan sponsors and professionals are invited to attend.
Sponsored by Buck Global, LLC, Speaker Bob Kaplan will lead an interactive program that will review the major provisions of the SECURE Act and how they impact the design and administration of retirement plans, including a focus on the effective dates for provisions and timing of plan amendments.
He will also cover changes to the rules for safe harbor plan contributions, adoption dates for new plans, and the revised required minimum distribution date.
Also discussed will be the impact that Pooled Employer Plans (formerly known as OPEN MEPs) may have on the industry.

MEET THE SPEAKER: Bob Kaplan, Director of Technical Education for the American Retirement Association – Bob in his role at the American Retirement Association, is the Subject Matter Expert for the content of the educational programs and is also a frequent speaker at industry conferences and on webcasts.
Bob is a former member of ASPPA’s Leadership Council and Co-Chair of the organization’s Government Affairs Committee. He is a former member of NIPA’s Board of Directors and the Board of Managers of the American Institute of Retirement Education.
In 2009, Bob was presented with NIPA’s Lifetime Achievement Award for contributions to the retirement industry. He has over 39 years of experience in the retirement industry including administration, consulting, sales and training.
